I’m normally not an earbud guy – I’ve tried them in the past and they’ve just never seemed to work for me. I don’t know if it’s just the brands I’ve bought, my ears themselves, but I’ve always struggled. I committed to overear headphones for most of my life but wanted something a bit more transportable that was useful in almost any setting, and I couldn’t afford something like Raycon or Bose. I’ve tried them for a few weeks now and I’m pretty impressed for the price point. Here’s a few specifics (PS I’m writing this review as I’m wearing them:
● Battery Life: I don’t use these for long periods at a time, but it’s really nice to have them fully charged throughout the day without having to worry about having a cable and wall plug with me all the time. My overear bluetooth headphones certainly can’t compete there.
● Noise-Cancelling: This was one of the highlighted features in the advertising and other reviews – and I couldn’t be more on board there. The noise cancelation is superb, my music is at a comfortably low volume and even during the quite, slower songs I cannot hear the people right next to me’s conversation; this blew me away.
● Comfort/Fit (Update): I feel silly here, but I’ve now realized there’s a special way to put them in contrary (at least in my experience) to conventional earbuds (which is why they kept slipping out for me before) – you have to sort of twist them into your ears, which sounds unpleasant but it locks them in perfectly and they fit amazingly. I really appreciate the generous variety of size customization for one’s ears with these. Now that I’ve figured that part out they are so snug. Note, the sound will seem muffled at first but if you turn it up to a comfortable level it isn’t at all, it actually creates a very balanced and clean effect. I am honestly stunned.
Sound: I can’t complain about the sound – nicely balanced – all the elements of the music are respectably audible even on more complex pieces, clear as a freshly wiped window – no muffle, skipping, glitching, overall pretty commendable quality.
Controls and Connectivity – Connectivity, in short, is great. Never had an issue with it, and syncs almost instantaneously. The controls take some getting used to, and the way the buds sit in your ears at sort of an angle can mean it might take some moments of poking and tapping around blindly with your finger to pause or change tracks, but once proprioception kicks in it’s no longer a problem.
Price: Given all the facets of quality I just discussed I again can’t believe how affordable these are compared to Bose, Apple, Samsung, etc. It really reiterates the point that with those you’re paying for the brand name more than anything else. Major props to this manufacturer for raising the game in earbuds while keeping the price low.
Final Verdict (Summary): As someone not normally inclined to wear earbuds, I can’t complain about these; they’re a bargain that offer you really solid sound quality, practically deafening noise cancelation capabilities, comfortable listening once you spend some time finding the right fit for you, rapid connectivity, and responsive, fairly clear-cut controls to manage your calls and media. Try them out!
